A Pencil is a slender tube of wood, metal, plastic, etc., containing a core or strip of graphite, a solid coloring material, or the like, used for writing or drawing.

 

General Pencil Company's artist products come to you from our factory in Jersey City.  We believe in quality, tradition, value, and the fun of creating.  We take pride in handcrafting quality pencils and artist materials using traditional methods passed down for five generations.  Our history dates back to 1864 when Edward Weissenborn began the first pencil factory.  Still family owned and operated, our goal is to create consistent, quality products in a sustainable manner for artists of all levels.  Our products continue to be the American made choice for aspiring and world renowned artists alike.

 

 

Kimberly Drawing

Kimberly® Premium Graphite Drawing Pencils are extra smooth artist quality hex shaped drawing pencils.  They are available in 20 degrees.

 

Charcoal

Peel & sketch paper wrapped charcoal is velvety smooth and convenient for quick sketching and artists on the go.  No need to sharpen, just slowly pull the string, peeling away the paper to reveal more charcoal.  They are available in 3 degrees - Soft, Medium, Hard.

 

Flat Sketching

Flat rectangular shape, cedar wood finish and wide graphite cores.  Ideal for calligraphy, drawing and broad strokes.

 

Pastel

Multi-pastel chalk pencils are handcrafted using only the finest artist pigments and incense cedar wood.  Great for pastel painting as well as embellishing scrapbooks.  Artist quality, our pencils are blendable, acid and oil free.  Made with genuine Incense Cedar wood.

 

China Marking

The china marking pencil is designed to mark on glossy surfaces, and the white line is easily visible.
