Easels
An easel is an upright frame or tripod to hold an artist's canvas, a picture on display, etc.
Fredrix® was founded in 1868 by E. H. Friedrichs. Although the art of manufacturing artist canvas has changed since the 1800s, the product we make today is very similar to the canvas we made over 140 years ago. The name was changed (Friedrichs to Fredrix®), but our mission has not. Our best selling canvases are universally primed for oil, acrylic or alkyd paints, and we still prime our finest canvas the old fashioned way... picked, pumiced and primed by hand with oil based ground. Fredrix® hand crafted artist easels are perfect to display and paint your canvases on. A variety of styles are available to fit your painting needs.
Dimitri Apokatanidis was a European photographer who came to Canada in 1957. His career in photography opened the door to the business of picture frames. He founded Apollon and opened its first picture framing store in Montreal. Since then the company has expanded and has concentrated its efforts towards the manufacturing of artist canvas. To this day Apollon offers a high quality product at a competitive price and supplies major art supply stores across North America.
